About

I did my specialty training in India, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Both institutes are center of excellence for medical education in India cater high volume of cancer patients. I was actively involved in patient care, academic research and teaching. We are involved in delivering services to all types of solid malignancies such as head and neck cancers, breast cancers, lung cancer, oesophageal cancers, stomach cancers, liver cancers, colorectal cancers, gynecologic cancers, and uro-genital cancers. We have 8 linear accelerators (2 True Beam, 1 Versa HD, 1 Clinac 2300 and 3 telecobalt) and 2 brachytherapy equipment in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Almost 500 patients are delivered radiotherapy sessions daily.
Apart from routine clinical work, we also try to find solutions to local problems. We innovated a technique for 4-DCT simulation with synchronized intravenous contrast in hepatocellular carcinoma, it helped us in visualizing tumor and also allowing to accommodate motion of tumor for better delineation of lesion. We also try to find solutions to non-malignant lesions as well. One such case is refractory eumycetoma of foot, it is chronic fungal infection mimicking a tumor. We got an excellent result with radiotherapy in a that case of eumycetoma of foot and now are treating more such patients.
