About

🔬 Assistant Professor | Entomology Enthusiast:
I am an enthusiastic insect lover since my childhood when my father used to work on our farms in a beautiful village of North India. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor (Entomology)/Entomologists in Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Haryana (India). As an Assistant Professor specializing in Entomology, I am dedicated to unraveling the intricate world of insects while inspiring the next generation of scientists. 🌿My academic journey has been driven by a profound curiosity about the fascinating role insects play in our ecosystems.

🌐 Academic Background:
PhD in Entomology | Western Sydney University
MSc in Entomology | CCS Haryana Agricultural University
BSc Hons. Agriculture | CCS Haryana Agricultural University

🔍 Research Focus:
My research focuses on Economic Entomology, with particular emphasis on Beekeeping, Insect Pollination, and Integrated Pest Management in horticultural crops. I am committed to contributing valuable insights to the field of Entomology through my research.

📚 Teaching Philosophy:
In the classroom, my goal is to ignite a passion for entomology among students. I co-ordinate courses that blend theory with hands-on experiences, fostering a deep understanding of insect biology and ecology. I am currently teaching six units to BSc Hons. Horticulture students which includes: 1) Fundamentals of Entomology, 2) Insect-pests of fruit, plantation, aromatic and medicinal crops, 3) Apiculture, Lac culture and Sericulture, 4) Insect pests of vegetable, spice and ornamental crops, 5) Introduction to major field crops, and 6) Experimental Learning Programme in Beekeeping, 7) Skill Enhancement Course in Apiculture, 8) Rural Horticultural Works Experience.

🌱 Outreach and Engagement:
Beyond academia, I am passionate about public outreach. I believe in the importance of bridging the gap between scientific research and the farming community. As an entomologist, I am actively involved in organising training and awareness camps for farmers which shows my commitment to promoting insect awareness and appreciation. I regularly interact with farmers by delivering lectures, Q & A sessions, organising exhibtions, etc. to address their problems related to insect pests and to increase awareness of the importance of non-chemical methods of pest management.

Let's Connect!

I'm always eager to connect with fellow entomologists, researchers, and educators. Whether you share a similar passion for insects or have a potential collaboration in mind, feel free to reach out! 🐞
