About
Dr. Pramod Gopinath is the immediate past Director of International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology. He joined the School as a Professor in March 2016 and was a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, from 2007 to 2016. He has an M.Sc. in Physics – Materials Science from Mahatma Gandhi University and was awarded Ph.D. degree under the Faculty of Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology. His areas of interest are Emission Spectroscopy of Laser Produced Plasma, Nonlinear Optics, Nanophotonics and Magnetoplasmonics. He has successfully supervised/co-supervised 4 research students for their Ph.D. degree and is currently supervising 8 students for their Ph.D. degree and mentoring 2 Post Doctoral Fellows. He has more than 30 publications in reputed international journals and more than 80 in conferences/symposia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, Senior Member of IEEE, a member of Optical Society of America, and Life Member of Indian Physics Association, Indian Laser Association, Plasma Science Society of India, Optical Society of India, Kerala Academy of Sciences, Indian Science Congress Association and Photonics Society of India.
