About
Dr. Verma was awarded his PhD in Microbial Biotechnology and subsequently became an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, India, before joining Deakin University, Australia in early 2011. He has recently completed two sponsored projects at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Una (IIITU), Himachal Pradesh, India.
His current research focuses on Nanobiotechnology and Microbiotechnology, which includes: (i) biophysical and biochemical characterization of microbial enzymes, (ii) nanotechnology-driven immobilization of various hydrolytic enzymes with potential applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and bioenergy sectors, and (iii) bioinformatics and in silico tools for mining industrial-relevant enzymes.
