Dr. Krishna P. Singh born in 1960 in an Uska of Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh was graduated from B. R. D. P. G. College (Gorakhpur University), Deoria, U.P. and obtained B.Sc (Ag) degree in 1980 and Master & Doctoral degree in Mycology & Plant Pathology in 1984 & 1990 respectively from Institute of Agriculture Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. From 1995 to 1992, I worked at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in BHU as UGC fellowship, ICAR and CSIR Research Associateships. I joined in service in the G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology in Nov 1992 as Assistant Professor and worked at College of Forestry, Ranichauri in various cadres viz Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Co-coordinator, UUHF Entrance, Director, Communication & Publication, UUHF and Officer Incharge, Discipline of Plant Pathology. I developed more economical and often more effective IPM programmed (Spray schedule) for the management of apple diseases over a larger area through the integration of forecasting, warning service, fungicidal, and biological conditions besides implementable technologies with common minimum programmed for off season vegetable crops and recommended for commercial application. I actively involved in the transfer of technologies to the benefit of Hill farming community. I am Life member of 8 scientific professional societies and published more than 100 research papers in various national & international journals, including 8 edited and 2 books, 5 laboratory manuals, technical bulletins, book chapters, number of popular articles and presented research papers in various National & International Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and Conferences. I supervised ten Ph. D., seven PG (Plant Pathology) and more than 50 UG students (Forestry & Agriculture). I had been serving as a member, editorial board of Applied Microbiology (UK), Plant Disease Research, Ludhiana, Indian Journal of Plant Pathology, Lucknow and Indian Phytopathology, India. I am Fellow of Four national scientific societies including the Indian Phytopathological Society, Indian Society of Hill Agriculture (ISHA), Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology and International College of Nutrition (FICN). My research contributions were recognized by the competent authorities and presented awards/ prizes/ appreciations by the university, CSIR Institutes, IPS and SMPP. Presently I am working as Professor Plant Pathology and guiding & coordinating research and development activities in GBPUAT, Pantnagar.
