Basant K. Tiwary is a Professor of Bioinformatics and former Director (Research & Development) of Pondicherry University and was a visiting associate professor at the Department of Ecology and Evolution, The University of Chicago (2007–08). His research focuses on the molecular evolution and systems biology of complex biological systems such as the human brain and complex diseases such as cancer and psychiatric diseases.
