About

Dr. Anoop Kumar Tiwari is a Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, India. With more than 28 years of teaching experience spanning school education, teacher education, and technical higher education, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, academic administration, and scholarly publishing.
Dr. Tiwari has authored ten books with reputed international publishers, three of which have been translated and published in seven European languages. He has published over fifty research papers, including several in reputed national and international journals and Scopus-indexed publications. His research reflects a sustained engagement with contemporary developments in literary, cultural, and interdisciplinary studies.
He has successfully supervised eight Ph.D. scholars, whose research spans diverse areas such as Memory Studies, Trauma Studies, Indian Writing in English, Ecocriticism, Ecofeminism, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, and Contemporary Literary Theory. Several of his research scholars have gone on to secure academic and professional positions, contributing to the advancement of research and higher education. As a research supervisor, he is known for encouraging interdisciplinary inquiry, methodological rigor, and original scholarship.
His own research interests include American Literature, British Literature, Indian Writing in English, Memory Studies, Trauma Studies, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, and Contemporary Literary Theory. His recent work explores the intersections of memory, identity, history, trauma, and representation in literature, cinema, and culture.
Dr. Tiwari has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programmes. He has presented research papers and delivered invited lectures in India and abroad. His academic engagements have taken him to countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, where he has interacted with scholars and researchers from diverse academic traditions.
As a teacher, he is widely recognized for his contributions to Communication Skills, Professional Communication, Leadership Studies, and Humanities education for engineering students. He has designed and taught courses that promote critical thinking, effective communication, inclusive leadership, and interdisciplinary learning. His commitment to student development extends beyond the classroom through mentoring, curriculum development, and academic counselling.
Dr. Tiwari has also been associated with various academic, administrative, and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of the humanities in technical institutions. He strongly advocates the integration of humanistic values, ethical awareness, communication competence, and leadership skills into professional education.
Through his teaching, research, publications, mentorship, and institutional service, Dr. Tiwari continues to contribute to the advancement of humanities scholarship and higher education in India while fostering meaningful dialogue between the humanities, social sciences, and technology.
