About

I specialize in English Language, Literature, and Communication Studies. My current areas of interest and research include Modern Literature, Contemporary Fiction and Critical Theories, Soft Skills, Fiction of the Indian Diaspora, Dalit Studies, Post Colonial Literature, Myth and Feminism, Disability Studies, and Medical Humanities. I earned my PhD in 1998 on the fiction of Bharati Mukherjee, one of the earliest full-length critical studies available on Bharati Mukherjee. Besides publishing a widely reviewed book I have published nearly a hundred research papers in reputed national and international journals, conference proceedings, and edited volumes. I have delivered invited lectures and plenary talks in dozens of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) around the country. I have also presented research papers at International Conferences in Fiji, Egypt, Denmark, Austria, Oman, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic. I have successfully conducted around 12 AICTE Sponsored Short Term Courses and Workshops on various aspects of teaching pedagogy, Soft Skills, Communication and Culture, and Corporate Communication. I am the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award of IIT Roorkee for 2015. Currently, I am serving as a Professor (HAG) of English at IIT Roorkee, India.
