About
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Vellore Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh (VIT-AP), India. My research interests and works are related to wetland ecosystems, their conservation and restoration, interaction of biotic and abiotic components of these ecosystems, habitat suitability modelling, and use of Remote Sensing and GIS technology for the assessment of wetlands.
I completed my Ph.D. in April 2023 at Central University of Rajasthan. My doctoral research is on the largest inland saline wetland ecosystem of India, Sambhar Salt Lake using integrated approach of remote sensing technology and ground observations-based ecology. My Ph.D. work has been acknowledged by Ramsar Convention on its 50th anniversary and published in Youth Engaged in Wetlands Report, 2021. I have already delivered three keynote lectures for Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) in 2020, Youth Engaged in Wetlands (YEW) in 2021, and Young ES Specialists (YESS) in 2023 primarily emphasizing on use of Remote Sensing technology for the ecosystem services of saline wetland ecosystems. I am the recipient of Wetzel Award 2022 by International Society of Limnology (SIL), Student Registration Award 2021 by Ecological Society of America (ESA), and Training and Travel Award 2020 by British Ecological Society (BES). I have working experience at Uttarakhand Space Application Centre. I am recipient of Summer Research Fellowship from Indian Academy of Science and Common Entrance Test Scholarship from Government of India. I have completed my Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). I have presented my research at seven international conferences. I am currently active member of International Society of Limnology (SIL), International Society of Salt Lake Research (ISSLR), and Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) apart from Young ES Specialists (YESS). Currently, I have published 13 research articles published in reputed journals of Springer Nature, Elsevier, Willey, IGI Global, and Plos One, out of which there are six research articles, six book chapters, and one encyclopedia article. My authored book manuscript on “Conservation of Saline Wetlands” has already been submitted to Springer Nature publication house.
