About
Dr. Ganguly was born in Calcutta, India. His home town is Habra, a small town in West Bengal, India where he started his childhood schooling at The North Point academy, Habra. Thereafter he started is high school at The Central Modern School, Barasat (CISCE curricula) from class 1 to class 12. He passed his boards ICSE and ISC (Science) in the year 2009 and 2011 respectively. He completed his Graduation (BSc) in Industrial Chemistry (Honors) and post graduation (MSc) in Applied Chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math in the academic years 2011-2014 and 2014-2016 respectively. His MSc Project was guided by Dr. Uttam Kumar Ghorai. He got admitted to one of the most elite Institutes (through Gate (XE-2016)), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur for M.Tech. degree in Rubber Technology (2016-2018). On July 2023, he defended his PhD thesis and got doctorate degree from IIT Kharagpur working under the supervision of Prof. Santanu Chattopadhyay. His thesis title was " Smart and Augmented Ceramic Based Elastomer Matrix Composites". Presently (from July, 2023) he is deputed in the role of an Assistant Manager - Research at CEAT Tyres, Halol, Gujarat.
Dr. Ganguly is an experienced Secretary General and Student representative for many times with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education institute. Skilled in Research, Team Management, Laboratory Setup, Event Planning, Fundraising, and Teaching. He has also demonstrated his potential in teaching and guiding BSc, BTech, MSc, and MTech students through his teaching and TA classes. He has also served as an visiting honorary faculty, exam paper setter, external examiner, moderator and other various capacities at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira.
Debabrata has fond interest in music. He was informally trained by his mother, Smt. Kankana Ganguly. Latter on during his collage days he got a basic understanding of various music forms from Swami Kripakarananda, Shri. Rwittick Bhattacharya in vocal, Shri. Partha Ghosh, Shri. Nishaant Singh in pakhawaj, Shri. Gopal Basu in sitar and Shri. Siddhartha Bhattacharya in tabla.
