About

I always seek a challenging opportunity that encourages creativity and learning to explore myself fully and realize my potential.I have rich academic and research credentials, and experience at prestigious universities such as BITS Pilani and NIT Allahabad. My research interests include the integration of renewable energy resources into the existing power grid with enhanced frequency support to deal with decreasing power system inertia. My research mainly focuses on load frequency controllers ( with the utilization of fractional order control and fuzzy logic) for an efficient electrical power system in regulated and deregulated scenarios.
“During my doctoral tenure, I have developed the Simulink model for interconnected power systems for conventional and deregulated scenarios. Power system inherent nonlinearities, i.e., governor dead band (GDB) and generation rate constraint (GRC), have been modeled for thermal and hydropower plants and, accordingly, load frequency controllers. Further, to improve the performance of load frequency controllers under the increasing complexities of modern power systems with the integration of renewable energy sources the intelligent control structure, i.e., Fuzzy fractional order controllers as load frequency controllers, has been implemented along with its real-time validation on the simulator (OP4510). As the renewable energy resources in the existing power system increases rapidly to meet the ever-increasing power demand of the world and address the global warming issue with a reduction in carbon emissions. However, most renewable energy resources inherently do not participate in the frequency regulation process; hence, power system inertia is decaying exponentially. The reduction in power system inertia has adverse effects on its effective operation and stability. Further, I have implemented t short-term and long-term frequency support schemes for wind power plants to deal with the inertia problem of power systems. The integration of wind energy as a renewable energy source has also been incorporated into interconnected power systems along with frequency support strategies (inertial support schemes and deloading approaches). The performance of frequency support has been enhanced with the help of deep learning-based forecasting techniques for wind turbine integrated power systems.”
