About
Aritra Roy Choudhury leads the Montana Seed Potato Certification Program. Roy Choudhury’s research and extension programs focus on seed potato health, potato pathology, and microbiome-driven disease management. His research integrates plant pathology, seed certification, and microbial ecology to develop practical and sustainable strategies for improving potato production and disease detection. Roy Choudhury’s work includes studies on potato virus epidemiology, soil and seed microbiome interactions, biocontrol approaches for tuber diseases, and harmonization of seed potato certification standards across the United States. He actively collaborates with growers, certification agencies, and industry stakeholders throughout the pacific northwest and nationally. Roy Choudhury also serves on multiple professional and industry committees, contributes to national potato health initiatives, and regularly organizes educational and extension programs for seed potato industry.
