Born (1962) in a farmer’s family in village Tandwa, Ballia, U.P., India, Prof. Ashok Kumar Chaubey did his graduation, post-graduation and D. Phil from University of Allahabad, Allahabad and presently working as Professor Emeritus, Department of Zoology, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut and Dean Science. Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. He has been honoured with 30 awards notably few are- Life Time Achievement Award, 2023; G.D. Bhale Rao Medal (2018), Prof. GB Shinde Gold Medal (2018), Excellence in Research Award (2019) and recently he has been conferred SKSS Life time Achievement Award (2024) by the Zoological Society of India. Prof. Chaubey is Fellow of various scientific societies notably FIAZ (2021), FSLSc (2018), FAZRA (2017), FHS (2017); life member of 12 Scientific Academic Bodies; has organized 13 symposia/workshops; attended/participated in more than 85 National and International conferences and delivered lead talk/keynote lectures/chaired and co-chaired the scientific sessions; have completed 6 major research projects; 19 PhD and 52 MPhil have been awarded under his supervision; published 135 research papers in peer reviewed National and International Journals and 05 edited books. Currently working on Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPN), their mass production and development of EPN based bio-pesticides against insect pests. Since 2015 till date participating in Asian Waterbird Census (AWC) in Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary Wetlands, Meerut and for the 1st time in Haiderpur Ramsar Site from its declaration by UNESCO, organized every year by Wetlands International, Netherlands.
