Dr. Daniel Mesafint Belete is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology at Debre Tabor University, Ethiopia, with more than sixteen years of experience in higher education, teaching, research, academic supervision, and technology transfer. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Mangalore University, India, an M.Sc. in Information Technology from Adama University, Ethiopia, and a B.Sc. in Information Technology from Mekelle University, Ethiopia.
His research focuses on interdisciplinary applications of artificial intelligence, including machine learning and deep learning, trustworthy AI, natural language processing, computer vision, conversational AI and chatbots, question answering, bioinformatics, data science, reinforcement learning, medical data and image analysis, big data analytics, cloud computing, intelligent information systems, Internet of Things, and computer science education.
His research has addressed AI and machine learning applications in healthcare, HIV/AIDS prediction, medical diagnosis, natural language processing, agricultural disease detection, fraud detection, facial emotion recognition, vehicle reliability, and other data-driven decision-support problems. He has published scholarly works in international journals and conference proceedings and has served as a peer reviewer for scholarly journals. He also supervises MSc and PhD research and contributes to research management, community service, technology transfer, curriculum development, and university–industry linkage activities.
