About
Environmental analytical chemist and toxicologist at the National Centre for River Research, Wildlife Institute of India, where I established and operate the Advanced Ecotoxicology Labs, an integrated ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS and LDIR facility.
My research follows contaminants from their sources into water, sediment, food and biota, and into the wildlife and communities that depend on them. Current work addresses microplastics and plastic-derived contaminants in freshwater systems, combining LDIR chemical imaging of polymer particles with LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS quantification of phthalate esters, bisphenol A and PFAS in sentinel species. Earlier research covered organochlorine residues in human matrices under the Stockholm Convention, arsenic speciation in rice, and heavy metals in rural drinking water.
I translate this evidence into ecological and human health risk assessments for national ministries and state governments in India.
