About
Rathinam Raja is working as a Professor & Director of Centre for Integrative Medical Research (CIMR) at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai. Raja has a wide degree of industrial and research experience in algae. He has gained rich knowledge from IIT M/Louisiana in culturing microalgae and their products that vary from beta-carotene to biofuel production. He has also worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Taiwan, South Korea, and Auxiliary Investigator for a decade at the University of Algarve on exploiting the nutritional/health benefits of macroalgae and microalgae. Currently, Dr.Raja is working on exploiting the nutritional/health benefits of algae for human welfare. To his credit, he has published 53 international articles, eleven patents,16 books, 16 book chapters and eleven genbank depositions. He has visited more than twenty-five countries to present his research findings at various international conferences and meetings.
