About
Heading 'Research & Product Innovation', I lead advancements in Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition (MPCVD) technology and lab-grown diamond solutions. My core focus is on Polycrystalline (PCD) and Single Crystal Diamond (SCD) wafer development, driving scalable growth methods that enable the production of high-quality, large-area diamond materials. These materials serve as critical enablers in diverse sectors, from Heat Spreaders and Semiconductor Devices to Optical Windows, Radiation Detectors, and Quantum Computing platforms utilizing NV centers in diamonds.
With over 14 years of research and product development experience in renowned organizations such as Maitri Diamonds, TATA Industry, Muwaves Components, the Institute for Plasma Research, and Cadence Design Systems, I bring a multidisciplinary approach combining scientific rigor and product vision. My expertise encompasses:
- MPCVD reactor engineering: Pioneering improvements in growth rates, plasma uniformity, reactor reliability, and crystal quality for diamond synthesis.
- Advanced microwave engineering: Enhancing energy coupling efficiency and optimizing reactor components—including power sources and antennas—for robust diamond growth.
- Translating innovation to market: Leading projects that bridge cutting-edge research and commercial adoption across sectors like semiconductors, optics, and quantum technology.
A defining accomplishment in my career has been the successful scaling of growth techniques for both PCD and SCD wafers, ensuring exceptional material uniformity and quality across large areas. These achievements are foundational for next-generation devices in optics, microwaves, power electronics, and quantum information science. Additionally, I established and equipped a state-of-the-art Microwave Measurements R&D laboratory, introducing advanced characterization tools such as Vector Network Analyzers and RF Signal Generators to accelerate research in microwave technologies.
I have also contributed to the industrial deployment of Microwave-Assisted Thermal Sterilization (MATS) in food processing as part of TATA SmartFoodz Ltd., promoting food safety and innovation under the "Made in India" initiative. My cross-functional expertise in antenna and microwave component design, alongside continuous reactor system innovation, positions me at the forefront of enabling tomorrow’s breakthroughs in semiconductor, optical, and quantum domains.
