About
Gajendra Kumar Yadav is a Ph.D. Scholar at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India, carrying out his doctoral research at the CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, under the supervision of Dr. Rajendra Bhanwaria. His research lies at the interface of green nanotechnology, sustainable agriculture, environmental science, and plant-based nanobiotechnology, with a focus on developing eco-friendly nanomaterials for biological and agroecosystem applications.
His current research focuses on the phytogenic synthesis of silver and Copper nanoparticles using medicinal plants, particularly Ocimum species, through sustainable utilization of both fresh and waste leaf biomass. His work integrates advanced nanomaterial characterization using UV–Visible spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, HRTEM, EDS, and XPS to establish structure–property relationships governing nanoparticle performance. He investigates the antibacterial, photocatalytic, and soil–plant interactions of these nanomaterials, aiming to develop multifunctional nanoplatforms for environmental remediation, soil health enhancement, and sustainable crop production.
His research contributes to the advancement of sustainable nanotechnology by promoting green synthesis strategies that minimize hazardous chemicals while maximizing resource efficiency through biomass valorization. By combining materials science, plant sciences, and environmental engineering, his work supports the development of innovative solutions for pollution control, antimicrobial applications, and climate-resilient agricultural systems.
His broader research interests include phytogenic nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology, environmental nanotechnology, soil–plant–microbe interactions, circular bioeconomy, biomass valorization, and advanced nanomaterial characterization. His long-term career objective is to establish interdisciplinary research that translates sustainable nanomaterials from laboratory-scale innovation to practical applications in agriculture, environmental management, and public health. He is committed to advancing scientific knowledge through collaborative research, innovation, and the development of environmentally responsible technologies that contribute to global sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
