About
My research focuses on tropical Indian Ocean climate variability, ocean circulation, air–sea interactions, and their influence on the South Asian monsoon. I investigate variability in salinity, upper-ocean dynamics, boundary currents, shallow overturning circulation, and extreme climate events using observations, ocean reanalyses, satellite products, and climate models. My work also emphasizes understanding climate change impacts, improving process-based understanding of ocean-atmosphere coupling, and evaluating model biases that affect climate predictability and projections.
