About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Akal University. I earned my PhD in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). My doctoral research, titled "Role of Public Health Expenditure in Rural India: Evidence from the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM)," examined the role of public health expenditure in improving rural healthcare outcomes and contributed to the understanding of health policy and public finance in India.
Before joining higher education, I served as a cluster resource coordinator in the Department of School Education from 20 July 2024 to 28 July 2025. In August, I joined the Department of Economics at Akal University as an Assistant Professor. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Basic Mathematics, Basic Statistics, Industrial Organisation, Monetary Economics, Financial Economics, and Public Economics. I am committed to creating an engaging learning environment that encourages analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and the practical application of economic theory.
My research interests include public economics, health economics, public finance, taxation, economic growth and climate change. My work focuses on generating evidence-based insights that contribute to effective public policymaking and sustainable economic development.
I have published research in internationally recognised journals published by Springer and SAGE Publishing. I remain committed to advancing high-quality research, academic excellence, and meaningful contributions to the fields of economics and public policy through teaching, research, and scholarly collaboration.
