Dr. Dinesh K. Sharma is a tenured Professor of Quantitative Methods and Computer Applications in the Department of Business, Management and Accounting at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, USA. His extensive qualifications include an MS in Mathematics, MS in Computer Science, Ph.D. in Operations Research, and a second Ph.D. in Management. With over thirty years of teaching and research experience, he has not only served on numerous committees to supervise Ph.D. students, but also acts as an external Ph.D. thesis examiner, and has reviewed Promotion and Tenure Dossiers for several universities in the USA and abroad.
Dr. Sharma’s research interests span a wide range of topics, including mathematical programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computing techniques, inventory and supply chain management, healthcare and portfolio management, and applied statistical techniques. His academic productivity is truly impressive, with over 300 refereed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings, four edited books, and two more on the way. His contributions have been recognized with twenty best paper awards.
Professor Sharma has collaborated on many funded research grants. He is the Editor of the Journal of Global Information Technology and the Review of Business and Technology Research, on the editorial board of several journals, and a paper reviewer for numerous journals and conferences. Additionally, he is a Decision Sciences, USA member and a life member of the Operational Research Society of India. He has been a program, conference chair, and coordinator of several international conferences in many countries.
