Dr. Swapan Suman
Haber Water, Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology, Indian School of Mines
About
Ph.D. awarded on the topic “Studies on combustion and carbonization characteristics of agricultural wastes for thermal and metallurgical purposes” from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. I have been actively involved in the area of extraction of energy from solid biomass materials and its utilization in various application with their conversion and management. He has been actively involved in the area of recovery of energy in the form of carbon through solid biomass wastes like sugarcane bagasse, rice husk, coconut shell, coconut husk wood dust etc. The use of biomass and its application provides an effort to utilize the huge amount of energy stored in it as an alternate fuel in order to conserve the other renewable energy sources like coal, oil etc. His also focused on the environmental effects and remediation technologies related to fossil fuels and biomass materials. He also obtains an interaction between coal and biomass and how efficiently and suitably it can be utilized for thermal and metallurgical purposes.
