About
Aditya Arya is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at School of Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He also holds an Academic Visiting Associate Professor position in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at University of Melbourne, Australia and Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK. He has been awarded national fellowship and appointed as a Research Fellow to the Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals (IPHARM) and National Institutes of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, Malaysia since October 2015 till April 2020. Previously, Aditya was employed as a Senior Lecturer of Pharmacology at Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Malaysia from October 2010 to January 2016.
Aditya has acquired many international awards, recently been awarded with the prestigious civilian “Hind Rattan Award” by government of India in January 2019. He is an active member of numerous committees, advisory boards and serving as reviewers to various prestigious peer reviewed journals of repute. He has published 60 over high impact research papers and has many leadership responsibilities, including current roles as a Group Leader of Cardio-metabolic Research Group and a Project Leader of flagship grant under Ageing and Quality of Life as well as with Obesity & Wellbeing program. Moreover, he has had acquired several national level research grants such as, Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), High Impact Research Grant (HIR) from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) with more than RM 14 million.
Aditya research is focused on cellular and molecular pharmacology/biology using cutting-edge techniques and multifaceted; in-vitro and in-vivo approaches. His group is critically involved in identifying specific mechanisms that underlie the development of diabetes linked with cardiovascular dysfunction. His team target insulin networks and the role of signaling pathways involved in pancreatic and metabolic functions by exploring the translational relevance of molecular biomarkers in the discovery of potential therapeutics for diabetes and cardiometabolic disorders.
