About
As a Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist, I primarily work on improving speech and swallowing outcomes in individuals post stroke and with neurodegenerative disorders. Food connects the mind, body, and soul, and I give my best to help patients reconnect with the three cornerstones of eating and drinking. My research centres on dysphagia, specifically on understanding the complex nature of normal swallowing, improving swallowing outcomes across different speech disorders, and healthy aging. I am also passionate about bioethics and research ethics, and currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in the subject at the Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
In my workspace, as an academician, I strive to create learning environments where students feel supported to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop into ethical, skilled practitioners ready to make a difference. I strongly believe that meaningful progress happens at the intersection of research, teaching, and real-world application.
I am also eligible to guide prospective Doctoral students in Speech Language Pathology discipline under Nitte (Deemed to be University). Interested candidates for a full-time PhD can directly reach out with a strong statement of purpose and a one-page CV to [email protected]. More details about the PhD program in Nitte University are available at: https://nitte.edu.in/phd.php
Further, as a second-generation Audiologist, I carry forward the responsibility of ethical audiology practice with a patient-centric approach in our clinic, Mangalore Hearing Center.
Whether you're a student, fellow researcher, clinician, or someone passionate about Speech and Swallowing skill, I’d love to connect. Feel free to reach out for collaborations, research discussions, or mentorship opportunities. Together, let us continue advancing teaching, research, and patient care in dysphagia.
