Dr. Sabina Bano (DOB 15/09/81) obtained M.A (2003) & Ph. D (2012) from Banaras Hindu University and did her B. Ed from Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer, Rajasthan. With four first class she selected for Indian National Scholarship, received Gold Medal in M.A, adjudged best outgoing student in B.Ed., Awarded UGC JRF, SRF in Geography, UGC NET in Women Studies. Her area of specialization are Regional Planning & Applied Geography and Gender Geography. She has an IoE project on ‘Women in Urban Slums: Understanding Gendered Challenges to Health and Sanitation in Marginalised Urban Spaces of Varanasi City’
Published Two books ‘Women and Development in Urban India: A Study in Gender Geography’, ISBN No. 978-3-659-15179-8 and ‘Women Empowerment towards Gender Equality’, M.R. Publications, New Delhi, ISBN No. 93-83282-93-2. 42 research papers presented in National and International Seminars and 16 papers published in professional journals and edited volumes. 22 invited lectures delivered and guided 39 dissertations. One PhD viva is awarded under the supervision. She has more than nine years’ experience of regular service of teaching at UG, PG, & Ph.D.

Before joining the Banaras Hindu University (10.01.2020), she worked as an Assistant Professor and Subject In- Charge in Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, a U.P State Government University from 24 April 2013 to 09 January 2020. Being a founder faculty, she has established the Department of Geography and drafted syllabus of BA/B.Sc., M. A/ M.Sc. and course work of Ph.D. She contributed various administrative services in KMCL University as Deputy Proctor, Convenor of Board of Studies, Programme officer of NSS, In charge of Scholarship for Minorities, IQAC Member, Member of Prospectus Committee, Assistant Superintendent of University examination, Assistant Evaluation In-charge, and so on.
Conducted Two National Seminars Women Empowerment towards Gender Equality (07-09 March, 2014) & Feminist Methodology in Social Sciences (08-09 March, 2016), contributed as co-convener in the foundation day cultural fest COSAC 2017 held at KMCL University and One National level workshop organized as an organizing secretory on Science Films (December 26-28, 2016).
