Dr. Santos Kumar Das is a R&D professional with more than 22 years (7 years’ industry experience, 15 years at NIT Rourkela out of which 10 years after PhD degree) of valuable experience on various Software developments and research activities both in industries and academics. At present he is working at National Institute of Technology Rourkela as an Associate professor. He worked at SDSU, California, US as an adjunct faculty for one month on Software Defined Network. He is academically astute and technically brilliant with a Master Degree specializing in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, India and PhD Degree from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. His PhD research work was on “Quality of service estimation for an Optical Virtual Private Network over WDM/DWDM network”. His current research work is on IoT, sensor networking, optical networking, embedded system and software defined network (SDN). He has guided almost 56 BTECH and 45 MTECH projects in various domains. He has published 54 journals, 62 conference papers, 12 patents submitted (9 granted) during his industry and academic work, 21 book chapters, one book proceedings and one is under process. He has already completed 2 high end sponsored projects and at this moments, he is handling 5 sponsored and 2 consultancy projects in various domains. At present, he is guiding 8 PhD students and he has already produced 12 PhD student on various domains including optical networking, communication networking, UAV, RADAR, AI/ML, IoT and embedded system. He also has a start-up “Ewarn System Pvt. Ltd” located at FTBI, NIT Campus and TBI, CV Raman, Bhubaneswar, Which is working on IoT and AI/ML based products for Industrial as well as Academic Laboratory Applications.
