About
Dr. Ajay Soni is an Indian physicist and Professor at School of Physical Sciences, Indian Institute of technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. Dr. Soni has more than 22 years of research and more than 13 years of teaching experience. He is a senior member of IEEE (SM-IEEE), Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK and associate member of American Chemical Society, USA.
He did his PhD from UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research Indore, India in the year 2009. He has done post-doctoral research at Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore (2009-2013).
He is the recipient of the young scientist research award from DAE-BRNS and BASE award from Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (2018) and Research excellence award from IIT Mandi (2021). He has obtained several research grants from various funding agencies. He is an associate editor of journal ‘Materials Lab’ and member of young leader’s editorial board of “Energy and Environmental Materials”.
Dr. Soni has expertise on physics of charge transport, phonon engineering, low temperature physics and instrumentations, light matter interactions and structural property correlations in nanomaterials and nano-functional devices, thermoelectric materials, 2D Materials.
