About
Dr. Abhijeet Babar is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. His research interests focus on advanced structural materials, computational structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and the behavior of composite structures under static and dynamic loading.
His research includes carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (CNTRC) beams, functionally graded materials, nonlocal and higher-order shear deformation theories, buckling and free-vibration analysis, and numerical modeling of structural systems. He has also worked in the area of earthquake engineering, including seismic vulnerability assessment, risk-index evaluation, and numerical simulation of existing RCC and masonry structures.
His professional experience includes research work at the Earthquake Engineering Research Centre (EERC), IIIT Hyderabad, and research experience at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. His broader interests include finite element methods, ANSYS-based numerical simulations, structural stability, computational mechanics, and the development of advanced analytical and numerical approaches for structural engineering applications.
