Alcon (United States), University of California, Santa Barbara, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata Department of Chemical Sciences, West Bengal State University
About
I am currently pursuing my postdoctoral research (2022-Present) in Prof. Javier Read de Alaniz and Prof. Christopher Bates's group at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My research interest lies in the design and development of biodegradable polymers and polymer adhesives.
I received my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree from the West Bengal State University, India, in 2014. Then joined the department of chemical sciences at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India as an Integrated Ph.D. (MS-PhD) student in the same year. During my MS, I mainly focused on the design and development of light-driven molecular switches. In 2022, I completed my Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of Prof. Subhajit Bandyopadhyay. Throughout my Ph.D. research, I was interested in the broad area of organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry, including the design and synthesis of light-responsive materials (mainly azobenzene and dihydropyrene-based molecular switches) and pi-conjugated functional building blocks (tetraphenylethylene and porphyrin-based).
