About
My name is Bita Afsharinia, and I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India. I am an international researcher from Iran and hold a Ph.D. in Public Policy from IISc.
My Ph.D. research focused on social security, food security, health inequalities, and labour precarity among gig and informal workers. My work examined how social, economic, and behavioural factors influence workers’ well-being and their access to basic needs. I also have an academic background in psychology and experience as an Assistant Professor, which strengthens my interdisciplinary perspective and quantitative research skills.
