About

Madhurima Sharma is a Doctoral Fellow at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, and a recipient of the University Grants Commission Senior Research Fellowship (UGC-SRF). She completed her Master of Population Studies (MPS) from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) in 2022, securing first rank. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) and a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Calcutta (CU). She has worked on the project titled “A Study on Marriage and Dissolution Pattern in India” at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

Her research focuses on social demography, fertility, public health, gender inequalities, aging, and spatial analysis. She has experience working with large-scale datasets such as NFHS, LASI, Census of India, NSSO, SRS, and DLHS. Her methodological expertise includes multilevel modelling, logistic and survival analysis, decomposition techniques, life table methods, and spatial autocorrelation analysis. She is proficient in Stata, R, SPSS, Python, ArcGIS, QGIS, CSPro, NVivo, and advanced MS Excel.
