About
Dr. Mahesh Manchanda is Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sharda University, Greater Noida, India, a role he joined in January 2026. Prior to this, he served for over six years as Professor and Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, where he led institutional accreditation and quality initiatives and acted as University Nodal Officer for UGC, AISHE, NIRF, AIU, SAMARTH, UTSAH, INC, PCI, and BCI. He brings more than 22 years of combined academic, research, and administrative experience.
He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar, in 2019, an M.Tech. (CSE, 2010) and M.Phil. in Computer Science (2008) from Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, and his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kurukshetra University (1998 and 2002).
His research interests span Web Mining and Web Semantics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, filed 23 patents (3 granted), and written 16 academic study-material books for institutions including Punjab Technical University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune, and Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. He is Principal Investigator of a USERC-funded research project on Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity Awareness for Rural Youth, has guided 2 Ph.D. scholars to completion (with 6 currently under supervision) and 12 M.Tech. students, and has organised IEEE-sponsored international conferences ICICDA 2023 and ICMSLE 2024.
His contributions have been recognised through the Distinguished Researcher Award at the 15th Uttarakhand State Science and Technology Congress (2022), Research Accomplishment Awards (2012, 2017, 2018), and the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Academic Excellence Award. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Member of the Computer Society of India.
