About
Upendra holds a master and a doctoral degree in public health. He is with the Institute of Public Health Bengaluru (India) where he serves as a faculty and lead the Cluster on Chronic Health Conditions & Public Policy. He holds the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance Senior fellowship (2023-2028). He served as Director (2019-2023) at the Institute of Public Health Bengaluru. His research interests/work includes public health, health policy, tobacco control, non-communicable diseases, chronic health conditions, urban health, political economy of health, commercial determinants of health and health inequities. He is also an artist and is into music and pencil sketches that he also use for public engagement around his work.
