About

Prof. (Dr.) Subrata Sahana is currently serving as Professor & Head in Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India, and obtained his M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra in 2010. He completed his B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from College of Engineering and Management Kolaghat, affiliated with West Bengal University of Technology, in 2007.
Prof. Sahana has more than 18 years of teaching, research, and academic administration experience. Prior to joining GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, he served as Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharda University from 2019 to 2026, where he joined as an Assistant Professor in August 2019 and was promoted to Associate Professor in January 2021. Earlier, he was associated with Galgotias University as Assistant Professor (2012–2019), VIT University as Assistant Professor (2010–2012), and RVS College of Engineering and Technology as Lecturer (2007–2008).
He has published extensively in reputed international journals and conferences and has supervised research scholars in emerging areas of Computer Science. He serves as an editorial board member, reviewer, and technical committee member for several prestigious journals and conferences. He has also delivered expert talks, keynote addresses, guest lectures, and invited sessions at national and international academic forums. He has served as a reviewer for publications of organizations such as IEEE, Springer Nature, and IGI Global.
His research interests include Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Pattern Matching, Bioinformatics, Network Security, Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science. He is actively involved in academic leadership, curriculum development, research promotion, industry collaboration, and outcome-based education initiatives.
