Dr. Urvashi Mishra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Resource Management, Faculty of Family and Community Science, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. She completed her graduation, post-graduation, B.Ed., and Ph.D. from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
A prolific scholar and researcher, Dr. Mishra has contributed over 50 papers to peer-reviewed international and national journals, 15 chapters in edited volumes, and has authored or co-authored 14 books in the domain of Family and Community Resource Management. She has presented 26 research papers at national and international seminars and conferences, reflecting her sustained engagement with the wider academic community.
Dr. Mishra has demonstrated exceptional leadership in research and capacity-building. As Principal Investigator, she has directed a major research project funded by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, and served as Co-Principal Investigator on a major research project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the IMPRESS scheme. She has also organised a National Workshop and Seminar on Consumer Protection and Consumer Research in her capacity as Director. To her credit are two copyright registrations and one patent, underscoring her contributions to applied and intellectual property dimensions of her discipline.
Beyond the academy, Dr. Mishra has been the Gujarat State Coordinator of the national NGO School Health Annual Report Program (SHARP), New Delhi, since 2005 — a two-decade commitment to institutional public health outreach. She has successfully executed five CSR projects in collaboration with distinguished organisations including Amul, Cairn, Johnson & Johnson, Piramal Glass, and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, addressing diverse community development mandates.
Dr. Mishra is a Life Member of several distinguished professional bodies, including the Home Science Association of India, So-Clean NGO (Vadodara), Indian Journal of Commerce, IGNOU (New Delhi), Indian Tourism & Hospitality Congress, Vigyan Gurjari of Vigyan Bharati – Gujarat, and the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.
