Presently serving as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Centre for Information Technology and Engineering, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, India. Twenty five years of teaching and research experience at University level. Supervised 25 candidates to Ph.D. degrees with 8 candidates presently pursuing Ph.D. in CSE and IT. Published over 125 research articles in reputed journals and conferences in the areas of Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Content Based Image Retrieval, Signal Processing and Data Mining. Executed more than 10 externally funded research projects. Authored 4 books; Held various levels of academic administration positions including Head of the Department (15 years), Member-Syndicate (3-years), Vice Chancellor in-charge as member of Syndicate Convenors Committee (about 10 months), Member-Senate(15-years), Member-SCAA (16-years) and Chariman-Board of Studies (17 Years).
