About

I have a background in physics, material science, and interdisciplinary research, with specializations in memory devices, charge transport, dielectric thin film, and extensive hands-on experience with atomic force microscopy (AFM), semiconductor parameter analyzer, physical vapor deposition technique, Langmuir-Blodgett setup. The goal of my Ph. D. the dissertation was to replicate various neural transmission modes in silver sulfide, a material well-known for its room-temperature quantized conductance and mixed ion-electron conduction. I have used AFM and parameter analyzer for applying voltage pulses similar to action potentials of neural networks to the system and investigated the local phenomena (e.g. change in electrical properties and topography) at the electrode/electrolyte interface. By introducing the ideas of low-energy ephaptic transmission and multilevel NMDAR pathway-like behavior in memory devices, our group helped to bridge the gap in knowledge between technology and biology. I have done similar measurements in other dielectric thin films like oxide, DLC, polymers, and small molecules.
