About
Prof. R. Ezhil Vizhi obtained her BSc in Physics from Kundavai Nachiyar Govt. College, Thanjavur, Bharathidasan University. She did her MSc from Rajah Serfoji Govt. College, Thanjavur, Bharathidasan University. She completed her M.Phil from Queen Mary’s College, Chennai. She joined as a Lecturer in VIT University during the year 2001 and obtained her Ph.D from VIT University in the field of Crystal Growth in 2010.She was holding a position of Division Chair, Crystal Growth and Crystallography
division in School of Advanced Sciences during 2012 to 2015. Presently she is a professor in department of physics under the School of Advanced Sciences.
She has produced five Ph.D students and presently guiding six research scholars in the field of Crystal Growth and Nanomagnetic Materials. She is a life member of Indian Association for crystal growth and Magnetic Society of India. She has published more than 50 papers in various national and international journals. She has been reviewer in various reputed international journals. She has been awarded Active Researcher award during the year 2011 to 2019 by VIT University and Fast Track Young Scientist Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in 2012.
She has completed one research project in Crystal Growth and received SERB EMR Project in Nanomagnetic materials from DST. Her main research works revolves around two fields namely crystal growth and magnetic nanomaterials. Synthesising organic, inorganic and semi organic crystals for NLO application have been one part of her work and the other are the research on magnetic nanomaterials mainly revolves around the characterization of soft and hard ferrites for permanent magnet applications.
