About
Dr. K. Deepa graduated from Alagappa Chettiar college of engineering and Technology, T.N, India in 1998. She obtained M.Tech degree from Anna University, Guindy campus, T.N, India in 2005. She received Doctoral degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, A.P, India in 2016. Dr.K.Deepa, is Professor in EEE Dept and Lead, E-Mobility Thrust Area Group, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore. She mainly works in the field of power electronics with focus on renewable energy source-based systems, micro-pico-nano-grids, and electric vehicles. 20+ PG graduates, 5 PhD scholars, and 2 postdoctoral fellows have completed their degrees under her guidance, and she is currently guiding 7 PhD scholars and 1 postdoctoral fellow. She has 1 Indian patent granted and 6 Indian patents submitted. She has presented and published several research papers in reputed journals and conferences. She had 100+ International Journal Publications and 150+ International conference papers to her credit. She has authored 2 books titled “Control Systems” and “Electrical Machines”, 5 book chapters and has filed one Indian patent. She has 27+ years of academic and research experience. She is the recipient of the Amrita Innovation and Research Award for 2020 and 2023. She is Life Member of the Indian Society For Technical Education (ISTE - India), an Associate Member of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE-India) and Senior Member of The Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE –USA). She is currently the chair of IEEE-PELS Bangalore chapter and also Secretary for 2021 and 2022 IEEE PELS Bangalore chapter. She has received the outstanding Exofficio- 2021 award for her incredible volunteering in IEEE PELS Bangalore section. She is the advisor for the IEEE-PES & IAS student branch joint chapter and counsellor for IEEE Amrita School of Engineering student branch. She was the advisor for IEEE WIE in Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru from 2015 to 2020.
