About

I am a Professor and specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) with more than two decades of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and academic research. My professional journey combines a commitment to evidence-based medicine with a strong focus on patient-centered outcomes in auditory and vestibular disorders, rhinology, and airway management. I have worked extensively in both tertiary-care and academic settings, mentoring medical students, postgraduate residents, and junior faculty in research methodology and clinical reasoning.

My clinical and research interests include tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT), vestibular rehabilitation, chronic rhinosinusitis, hearing loss, and postoperative airway outcomes. Over the years, I have led and collaborated on studies examining the psychological and functional outcomes of educational and behavioral interventions in ENT disorders. My research philosophy emphasizes practical applicability—translating data-driven insights into strategies that improve patient compliance, symptom control, and quality of life.

I have authored and co-authored nearly eighty publications in national and international indexed journals, including PubMed, Scopus, and Springer-listed titles. My work spans original research, systematic reviews, and clinical case studies that explore both the physiological and psychosocial dimensions of ENT practice. I also contribute regularly as a peer reviewer for leading journals, such as the Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery and Clinical Rhinology, where I evaluate manuscripts for scientific rigor, methodological integrity, and ethical compliance. To date, I have reviewed more than 120 manuscripts across several reputable publishing platforms, including Springer Nature, Dove Medical Press, Wiley, BioMed Central, and Jaypee Medical Journals.

My academic contributions extend beyond publication and peer review. I have been actively involved in curriculum design, postgraduate assessment, and continuing medical education programs. I hold certifications from the ICMR–National Institute of Epidemiology in Biomedical Research (BCBR) and from the National Medical Commission (FAIMER-accredited) in the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology (BCMET). These programs have strengthened my foundation in research design, biostatistics, publication ethics, and competency-based medical teaching.

I have guided postgraduate theses, supervised clinical audits, and participated in faculty development initiatives focused on research skill enhancement. My teaching approach integrates classical otolaryngology principles with current advances in diagnostics, technology, and rehabilitation sciences. I believe that medical education should not only impart knowledge but also foster scientific curiosity, ethical judgment, and empathy for patients.

My ongoing research focuses on understanding how structured patient education and psychosocial support influence treatment adherence and long-term recovery in chronic ENT conditions. Recent work has explored how preoperative counseling and educational interventions reduce anxiety and improve postoperative outcomes. These studies aim to position patient education as a cost-effective, evidence-supported adjunct to routine ENT management protocols.

In addition to clinical and academic commitments, I am deeply engaged in promoting public awareness of ENT health. I have conducted patient-oriented workshops on hearing conservation, allergy management, and vertigo care, advocating for early screening and lifestyle-based prevention strategies. I am equally passionate about bridging the communication gap between researchers and clinicians through workshops on manuscript writing, peer review, and ethical publishing practices.

My long-term goal is to contribute meaningfully to the integration of clinical ENT research with real-world health policy, improving access to specialized care while maintaining scientific transparency. I continue to combine my roles as clinician, researcher, educator, and reviewer to advance the standards of otolaryngology in India and beyond. My professional efforts remain guided by three core values: intellectual integrity, compassion in practice, and the continuous pursuit of scientific excellence.
