About

Dr. Ghosh has contributed 51 research papers in reputed National and International journals such as Current Science, Journal of Earth System Science, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis and edited books.
Dr. Ghosh is presently doing research in Fluvial geomorphology and sedimentology;
Weathering History of Western West Bengal. Paleo-environmental condition and evolution history mainly in areas of Cratonic West Bengal. Particularly lacking is the response of river systems to monsoonal fluctuations in terms of hydrological response as well as sedimentation history. Therefore, multi-proxy study involving palynology, phytoliths, sedimentology (including modelling; XRD XRF), clay mineralogy, and magnetic mineralogy has been carried out in fluvial sediments to reconstruct the palaeo-climate of the less-studied region. This is supplemented by detailed field surveys, high resolution chronology (Luminescence Dating),topographical analysis, geomorphometry data and shallow sub-surface stratigraphic studies in order to examine the spatial and temporal relationship of fluvial landscape development in this region. Shallow sub-surface stratigraphy is inferring through Electrical Resistivity methods which fill the gap between the cliff sections and bore holes. High-resolution climatic records from continental settings for the Quaternary period are relatively rare. The results are encouraging and accords with the present-day fluvial processes and paleo-environment. Now he
also working with Schmidt hammer to establish the weathering history of Cartonic West Bengal.
