About
After completion of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, I got M. Sc (Hons) degree from Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam during 2007 under the supervision of Professor Dr. Uris Samo, I joined the National Rural Support Program, Islamabad and University of Agriculture Peshawar for a period of about one and a half year respectively. Then I worked at the provincial Livestock Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Veterinary Officer (Health) for three years. During this period of about five years I got an opportunity to understand the issues faced by the small poor farmers, and educated the emerging entrepreneurs across livestock value chain. At the same time I established my own clinic to utilize my knowledge of Theriogenology / management, and introduced good clinical practices focused at improving the breed, animal fertility and disease resistance through appropriate reproductive management.
During 2011, I joined the University of Agriculture Peshawar as regular Lecturer in the College of Veterinary Sciences. I taught reproductive physiology, gynecology and obstetrics, and reproductive biotechnology. Semen cryopreservation was my major area including the post thaw quality parameters to improve conception rate in bovine and buffalo. Besides, I also worked on the optimization of estrus synchronization and pregnancy diagnosis by using ultrasonography in local goats. During this period, I moved to Huazhong Agricultural University Wuhan, PR China for Doctorate. My research focused on the role of Anti-Müllerian hormone in the sertoli/sperm cells, and finding of genomic and proteomic in granulosa cells. During that period I was trained in molecular techniques: cell culture of sertoli cells/granulosa cells/ CHO cells, use and construction of shRNA plasmid, siRNA, RNA/DNA extraction, proliferation, apoptosis, IHC, ICC, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR and western blotting.
I would like to work on application of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics in animal nutrition and reproduction of various livestock species specially food animals, focused on the issues impeding the fertility through genetic improvement of these animals. The techniques to be applied in pursuing such type of research studies would comprise cell culture, endocrinology, genetic markers, epigenetics and in-vitro-fertilization thorough the advances in their application.
