About
I earned my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES; NIRF Ranking- 52), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India and Master of Technology in Environmental Engineering and Management from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. I joined UPES University in 2016 as an assistant professor and had around 9+ years of teaching and research experience. I have guided >15 postgraduate and undergraduate students project during the tenure.
My research's overarching objective is to comprehend, and develop various dimensions of the occurrence, fate, transport, and remediation of heavy metals and emerging contaminants in the water and wastewater systems. I have contributed 15 international journal articles, 9 book chapters, and 15 conference papers with h-index 11. I received international recognitions like one of the research entitled “Global groundwater vulnerability for Pharmaceutical and Personal care products (PPCPs): The scenario of the second decade of 21st century“ has featured in the Science for Environment Policy news service by the European Commission's Environment Directorate-General (2023). My published research has been sent out to over 20,000 policymakers, academics, and business people across Europe to assist in the development of effective, evidence-based policies. I have won Best Research Oral Award & Best Poster Award at 4th International Sustainability Conference on Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental Advances (HSFEA 2023)- Sustainability Fair 2.0, 3rd rank in Spectrum event in Cognizance (I.I.T Roorkee technical festival) in 2012. I have done several industrial/academia trainings like Advanced Construction Techniques at Larsen & Toubro Construction, New Delhi (2017), Solid Waste Management at NIT Kurukshetra (2016), Tapovan Vishnugad Hydro Electric Power Project at Larsen & Toubro Construction, Joshimath, Uttarakhand (2012). I render my reviewer services to several reputed journals like Environmental Science & Technology Letters, Environmental Research, Reviews of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology and Groundwater for Sustainable Development. I am actively engaged in consultancy related to environmental and geotechnical engineering.
