About

I am currently working as DHR-Young Scientist at Department of Animal Sciences, School of Life Sciences, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, India. I completed my PhD and Masters in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from Central University of Himachal Pradesh. I have been awarded Young Scientist Award and Fellowship by Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on the project entitled "Insight into secretome, metallome and metabolic pathways of rickettsial pathogens: a way towards candidate immunogens for translational medicine". I worked as Junior Research Fellow at ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, India for two years and three months. I have been awarded Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, India on the project entitled "Genome-scale identification of unique pathway metalloproteins of scrub typhus intracellular pathogen Orientia tsutsugamushi: An approach towards potential therapeutic targets for translational medicine". My research interest are in zoonotic and neglected diseases, bioinformatics, computational biophysics (molecular docking, protein-ligand interactions and molecular dynamics simulation), drug discovery, role of metals in biology (identification and mining of metal-binding proteins), gut microbiology, probiotics, animal gastrointestinal tract metagenomics, dietary therapeutics and next generation sequencing (long non-coding RNA and micro RNA).
