About

Shyam Sudhakar Gomte is a Ph.D. research scholar in the Department of Pharmaceutics at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Ahmedabad, India, working under the guidance of Dr. Aakanchha Jain. His doctoral research focuses on the design and development of novel mucoadhesive nanocarrier-based drug delivery systems for effective management of colon cancer. Majorly, his research involves the fabrication of actively targeted protein-polysaccharide nanocomplexes aimed at improving site-specific drug delivery and therapeutic efficacy. In addition to his core research, he is actively engaged in formulation and characterization of vesicular systems including liposomes, bilosomes and niosomes, designed for diverse biomedical applications such as cancer, diabetes mellitus and inflammatory disorders. His research interests lie in rational design of advanced nanocarrier systems for controlled drug delivery across diverse therapeutic areas. During his Mater’s, he conducted research focusing on synthesis novel MSNs to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly-water soluble drugs. He has established a strong academic and research profile, evidenced by more than 618 citations, an h-index of 14, and an i10-index of 17, reflecting the significant impact and consistency of his scholarly contributions. He has authored over 40 scientific publications, including original research articles, review papers, and book chapters, demonstrating sustained productivity across multiple domains of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. His work has been disseminated in several well-reputed international journals such as the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (IJBM), Microchemical Journal, Journal of Molecular Liquids, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Therapeutic Delivery, AAPS PharmSciTech, Bionanoscience, and Cellular Oncology, highlighting the quality, visibility, and interdisciplinary relevance of his research output.
