About

Dr. Pramod Kumar has been working regularly as an Assistant Professor in the MATS School of Library Science at MATS University, Raipur (C.G.). He completed his PhD in the Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He has more than 2 years of teaching and learning experience. He is the co-convener of the two-day national conference on transforming libraries through artificial intelligence (AI) for Viksit Bharat @ 2047, which was held on 29 & 30 June, 2026. Recently, he submitted a minor research project proposal for 2026-2027 in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Financial Assistant Grant received from the National Book Trust (NBT), India, to organize the Book Fair Venue in Bijapur District, Chhattisgarh. Before joining, he worked at SJJTU (Raj.), RIS (Raj.), and the IAS library (BHU). He was the organizing secretary of the National Librarian Day 2024 program. Two MLIS students completed their dissertations under my supervision and earned their MLIS degrees during the 2024-2025 academic session. He has received the JRF Award from UGC. He received a JRF/SRF fellowship from the UGC, New Delhi, during his PhD. His research interests are Return on Investment from the University library, Training Matrix, reading habits, LISTA Database, Digital University & MOOCs. He has published numerous research articles in UGC-CARE-listed and Scopus-indexed national and international journals. He has presented research papers at national and international conferences. He received an MLIS degree from the Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) at Banaras Hindu University. Lifetime membership of the Indian Library Association (ILA), the Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS) and the Academic Library Association(Kerla).
