About

I, Yash Pandey am currently working as Manager in Design Cell of Pavement, Material and Geotechnical division with a major construction company G R Infraprojects Limited. I have about 6 years of professional experience in the Highway Engineering in India.

I had obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (2013) and Master’s Degree in Civil Transportation Engineering (2015) from RGPV University, Bhopal. With the time I gained knowledge in various aspects of Pavement, Material and Geotechnical engineering such as Superpave design, soil improvement of very weak soils for pavement foundations, non-destructive testing methods for pavement evaluation including BBD, FWD; advanced laboratory material testing as Resilient Modulus, Wheel Track Test, Beam Fatigue Test, DSR; working on the existing and improving the real time Pavement and Asset Management System. I have worked on the design and construction. I have also worked extensively on the use of geosynthetics for reinforced pavement structure and ground improvements using Geocell, biaxial Geogrid for high embankment.

In pavement design, I have successfully used CTB, CTSB, RAP (both hot and cold mixing), Warm Mix Asphalt, Stone Matrix Asphalt, Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB), Perpetual (long-lasting) Pavements, for different projects- 2-laning, 4-laning, 6-laning and 8-laning of highway and expressway projects. Use of plastic bitumen is in progress in Expressways and various projects in the north-eastern states. Extensive research has been done by me for the rheological studies of old and new bitumen for their use in Hot Mix based on their diffusivity along with control and functional Resilient Modulus tests, prior to actual implementation in the field.

My endeavour is maximization of the best practices in the Highway Engineering, as followed internationally and tailor the designs to best suit to the local conditions and deliver sustainable optimised “green” solution conducive for the environment and the governmental initiatives
