About

I am an experienced researcher and educator in public and environmental health with a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. With over 20 years of academic and research experience, I have worked extensively at the intersection of environmental contaminants and human health, focusing on occupational toxicology, air quality, and vector-borne disease control.

My work has led to over 70 peer-reviewed publications in reputed international journals, amassing around 1,500 citations (Google Scholar), with an h-index of 23 and i10-index of 30. These metrics reflect the wide influence of my research across toxicology, occupational health, environmental sustainability, and vector biology.

I have contributed to more than 20 externally funded research projects as Principal Investigator and Co-PI. These projects covered critical issues such as occupational pesticide exposure, environmental pollutant monitoring (including pesticides, PCBs, PAHs, and heavy metals), health risk assessment in vulnerable populations, and vector control strategies. My research findings have informed policy-relevant public health interventions.

In environmental health, my research has examined seasonal trends in ambient air pollution and their association with meteorological variables, offering insights into their implications for human health. I have conducted biomonitoring studies to evaluate exposure using biomarkers like cholinesterase activity in occupationally exposed populations. My recent work also explores insecticide resistance in vector species, integrating environmental monitoring with public health.

As an educator, I have mentored MSc, AFIH, and Ph.D. students, taught courses in environmental health, occupational hygiene, biomonitoring, and vector control, and supervised research interns. I have organized training programs on air quality monitoring, health risk assessment, and sustainable pesticide practices, embedding practical research into academic learning.

I am deeply committed to advancing public health through collaborative research, innovative education, and capacity building. I look forward to contributing to your institution by developing impactful research, engaging with students, and promoting sustainable public health strategies.
