About
I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Captain Williamson Sangma State University, Tura. Prior to this, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Dr. K.C. Patel Research and Development Centre, Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT). I recently submitted my PhD at the Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune, India. I completed my double master's degree in Geography and History and further expanded my academic training in archaeology through a Postgraduate Diploma at the same institute where I pursued my doctoral research.
My scientific interests focus on the processes shaping the Earth’s surface, ancient hominin records, geomorphic landforms, and stratigraphic frameworks that document Quaternary landscape evolution. Currently, my research emphasizes the application of sedimentology, geochemistry, and geochronology (particularly Optically Stimulated Luminescence—OSL) to understand Quaternary environmental change, with a specific focus on fluvial systems in the lower Gangetic Plain (Rarh region). Although my academic trajectory has transitioned from physical geography to geoarchaeology, my core research interests remain centered on human–environment interactions. I am particularly interested in how environmental changes in the past have influenced the development of human societies, and conversely, how human activities have shaped landscapes over time. My work integrates geological and archaeological approaches to reconstruct past human–environment dynamics and aims to use deep-time perspectives to better inform present-day responses to environmental and climatic challenges.
