- Dr Hamdy is a Professor of solar energy and former Dean of Engineering and Renewable Energy Research Institute, National Research Centre, Egypt.
He has an extensive experience in the field of mechanical engineering for 36 years either academically or professionally. His fields of interest cover the following: Renewable Energy (Solar energy applications) and Mechanical Engineering (Water treatment technologies, Water Pumping and Desalination, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems).
• Dr. Hamdy is certified as a Solar Energy and Renewable Energy Consultant Engineer with registration No. 1370/3. His consultancy services included design and construction supervision for off-grid, on-grid, water pumping, and all solar thermal energy systems for several solar energy companies.
• Professionally, he is an electromechanical designer and reviewer for solar energy systems for PV off-grid and/or on-grid systems and solar thermal applications like water pumping and desalination, solar cooling for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems, and solar hydrogen production systems.
• Academically, he is recognized both internationally and nationally in solar energy applications. He is the author of more than 50 scientific research articles published in leading international journals and international and national conferences.
• He was awarded his doctoral degree in Mechanical Power Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan 2000 in Solar Energy Systems.
• Egyptian Partner in an international research project entitled "Mediterranean activities for research and innovation in the energy sector" "MARE Project", funded by European Commission FP7 (INCO - 9/2013 - 2016) under grant agreement 609554.
• Member of Renewable Energy Technical Feasibility Studies Committee based on Egyptian Ministerial decree of Electricity and Renewable Energy in Egypt No. 176 dated 13/4/2017.
